Alright first of all pokemon shadows within is a game based on villages fighting over for territories so they can hunt for food in them, making alliances/wars with other clans and generaly having fun!
So in this post I'll talk about some basics of the game so newcomers can get on their way to play the game!
Alright so firstly you'll find yourself in a small area where you climb a mountain and find a unknown eevee, when you talk to it it will tell you a bit about the world and then let you know of all kinds of eevee's there are, you have to choose which you want to be and then it will tell you more about those eevee's, once you have decided you will find yourself in your clan's town(Later on, during bug testing it's Lunar eevee village).
If you choose lunar eevee you will first have to choose your eevee's colors, and after that you will get a crescent Moon mark in your inventory, right click on it and press "Activate powers" then "Equip".
After that all clan's should have 2 attacks located in their "Attacks" tab, you can either drag them from the tab into shotcuts found under your "map" screen (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,',+) or you can just click them from the attacks tab all the time to use them (Do note that after logging out and logging in the shortcuts will be erased so you will need to place attacks again).
Now after you have all that done I'd recomment going one map to the right then taking the road downwards which will take you to training dummies, they are there to help you gain a few lvl's and be stronger as NPC's will kill you if you are lvl 1(Thoo be my guest and try your luck if you want lol).
After gaining a lvl-up you will gain some basic stats and 5 stat points that you can use for anything your heart desires, the stats are as following :
Health - 1 point gives 5 hp - You can already guess what this is for
Strenght - 1 point gives 1 Strenght - It's used for close range and physical attacks
Defence - 1 point gives 1 Defence - It's used to lower damage from physical attacks and close range ones
Magic Power - 1 point gives 1 Magic Power - Used for long range and elemental attacks (Not close range ones).
Magic Defence - 1 point gives 1 Magic Defence - Used to lower damage from long range and elemental attacks
Speed - 1 point gives 1 Speed - Used for dodging enemy attacks
Now don't think speed is useless, it's actually quite usefull, the higher it is from your enemy the more chance you got to dodge the enemy's attack and he has less chance to dodge your attack. (A little bit of speed and a little bit of luck and you'll be dodging attacks in no time~).
I recomend getting to atleast lvl 5 before you even consider attacking NPC's, don't worry it doesn't take too much time, and also to those who are lazy and don't wanna fight NPC's...don't think that you can constantly train on those dummies, they will only take you as far as lvl 20.
After playing for a while you might get a message that you are getting hungry and thirsty, you can check your thirsty and hungry rate in your status (You get the warning at 80%), for thirst you just gotta get next to water and you can find "Drink" command in your commands tab, as for eating NPC's drop meat and inside the forest you can find berries, berries are save to eat but don't give much fullness, eating raw meat might poison you but a low chance.
What can you do with raw meat and berries to get more fullness? Well there is a quest that gives you cooking proffesion, you can use that to cook the meat or make berry soup.
Also when you use attacks you will notice it says "Weak", the more you use one attack the more powerfull it will get untill you master it, once you master it you will get a new attack! (ofc there is limited attacks and you should master both of the starting attacks to get all attacks and then the ones you get too).
Also the ranks are not meaningless, your rank defines your lvl cap and they are the following :
Newborn - lvl 10
Kit - lvl 25
Hunter/Predator/Flower - lvl 50
There are quests that allow you to rank up while you automatically rank up from Newborn to Kit when you reach lvl 10, more ranks will come.
Well I think that's all about the basics, I leave the rest to you guys to explore and have fun~
